Born and raised in the beautiful resort town of Lake Geneva, WI, Neal was inspired at an early age by his surroundings. With Geneva Lake at the center, the quaint towns, historic architecture, and seasonal water sports are seeds for his unique and illustrated pieces. He is the go to illustrator and designer for the area and has commemorated many local businesses, popular lake life, area landmarks, seasonal events, and private estates. In addition, his photography of the area has been featured by organizations on social media, in print, and exhibitions.

Whether a commissioned illustrated piece or one of his commercial projects, Neal loves simplicity and likes to allow the viewer to fill in the blanks. Starting his career working with premier commercial artists, his work blurs the lines between illustration, design, advertising, and fine art. His strong reference to retro American advertising creates a unique approach that uses “images of the past to communicate concepts of the present.” Neal’s award-winning art connects with the viewer in a nostalgic way and can make a monolithic corporation feel very approachable and Mayberryesque. His perspective on the world stands out from the endless sea of group thinkers and cookie cutter computer-generated templates.
